26 year old woman dating a 19 year old man, dating advice forum

You need to mature some more. In your post all you do is target him with nothing but put downs one way or another? There's no right or wrong in this sort of situation.

  1. If she doesn't know, I suggest you tell her.
  2. If you want to date this woman, pursue that goal.
  3. You haven't even asked her out.
  4. Maybe he'll be the one for her, maybe not.
  5. He was a bit over-confidant if you asked me.
  6. Are you sure that they've failed at competing?

My wife is five years older than me. It's not about it being too many years apart, it's about how you relate to them. We made a great couple, and were together for years as well.

She needs to be dating someone more in her maturity bracket. If you're uncomfortable with the age difference, don't date this person. The genders are, to me, irrelevant. Just be open and honest, listen to both your heart and your mind, websites and it is hard for things to go too wrong. If it's working for you then that's all there is to the matter.

All situations are different, depending on the people in it. When you expect to relate to someone on a certain level, and you can't, how it just causes problems. This shows the origin of this question.

But the fact that it concerns you and you have to ask this question says to me, pretty strongly, that you personally shouldn't date this woman. It sounds like you don't respect this woman, or at least, the age difference is a deal breaker for you. The older party being a woman doesn't somehow make it wrong, that's a sexist double standard and it's bullshit. In that sense dating an older woman reflects well on you. But if you like her, stop judging her and yourself for your dating choices.

We had a lot of fun in the time we were together. Have your daughter invite him over and get to know him. No one, including the two of us, gave any thought to the age difference, because it was never evident. His looks are not important.

Yeah, I think you're probably too immature for this relationship, dude. Why don't you give then a chance? Do you think punishment has to be very unpleasant to be effective? Is it possible for this all to work out? They got married two weeks ago.

Let people deal, it's not a big problem unless you make it a big problem. What people might think of you as a couple is just one of many factors that go into deciding whether to pursue a specific relationship. This relationship seems quite normal, to my eyes. The age difference is not bad at all, she is going to meet a lot of frogs before her prince. Older women are awesome because we're well established, are independent, have careers, cool interests and do fun stuff.

  • This does not seem to be the case here.
  • Gwyneth Paltrow is five years older than Chris Martin.
  • What matters is whether your levels of maturity match, not your calendar age.
  • Having a girlfriend who is a few years older than you says nothing about you, but worrying about it does.
  • If you could see your way clear.

We're awesome because we're confident, fun and know ourselves pretty well and are comfortable in our own skin. That ordeal drove me away from her and right to Lance. When I got out and got my first internship, same deal. He's not concerned about the difference at all. This is, to be blunt, complete sexist bullshit.

Don't go fishing subconsciously or not for reasons to not go for it. If you think this way already, what you are going to think when it's time for your friends to meet your girlfriend? Why do you care what other people think about your prospective relationship, or what they might think about you on the basis of who you date? Older women, because of their confidence and experience, also make better lovers. Just don't pester her about your disapproval, part that will run her straight into his arms.

Most Helpful Opinion mho Rate. If you're ashamed of her or of yourself because of her age, do her the favor of breaking things off so that she can find someone who is proud to be with her. Either you're into them or you're not. Older women tend to respect themselves more and have higher standards.

Also, I'd just like to request that you and society as a whole work super-hard to unpack yourselves of this notion. Is that really who you want to believe? This sort of thing, as with almost any relationship, is almost entirely dependent on the people involved.

What Is With These Grown Men Dating 19-Year-Olds (Besides the Obvious)

Since you are asking, and given the words you chose, she is too old for you. If you raised her right and she has healthy ideas about men and relationships then she will be fine. You've made a judgement based on seeing him once. Sort Girls First Guys First.

Hopefully she doesn't think the same way I do. Your daughter is an adult, and as difficult as that can be to accept, she will make her own decisions. We just enjoyed the hell out of each other.
